Our key achievements in 2023 were as follows:

1. Trained over 100 people in solar power and sustainable energy across Ghana. Trainees rated the training 9.5/10 across all aspects, our best trainee feedback.

2. Supported three community benefit initiatives:

a. A small business distributing ‘solar home systems’ in the off-grid fishing village of Bomigo. Ten systems have been sold, impacting an estimated 200 people.

b. A demonstration solar powered Irrigation system for an organic farm run by a local NGO. Thanks to a grant from Next Energy Foundation, this developed into a larger project trialling this technology for 10 farmers across the region.

c. The supply and installation of solar power systems for families in Domeabra near our training centre, impacted an estimated 40 people.

3. Arranged and subsidised internships for 13 trainees (7 completed, 6 scheduled). These internships provide people from rural and underserved communities access to paid work experience with engineering companies in Accra and Kumasi. Our beneficiaries would not get such opportunities without our support.

4. Provided six field trips/field work experience opportunities for our trainees, including five days installing a solar powered microgrid and a visit to a plant where batteries are recycled into solar generators.

5. Travelled to schools and churches to deliver renewable energy and clean cooking advocacy – providing tips and guidance on how families can use suitable energy to help alleviate fuel poverty and reduce hazards associated with indoor air pollution. Reaching over 700 people.
