Create Your Own Event

There are lots of ways to Fundraise for Dream Renewables.

Do you want to fundraise for Dream Renewables but don’t want to take part in one of our events? There are lots of other ways to get involved:

1. Complete your own challenge event

If you have a place in a run or challenge event, we can offer lots of support [link to ‘Why Fundraise for Dream Renewables’ page] to help you to raise funds for Dream Renewables.

2. Host your own event

Contact us for help in organising your own fundraising event, some popular fundraisers include:

  • Cake Sales - at work, school or for the neighbours – we can even supply edible Dream Renewable cake toppers for you!

  • Quiz nights – either online or in person, a quiz night is a great way to spread the word and fundraise we’ll supply a round of Dream Renewable based questions.

  • Raffles – local businesses are usually very generous if you explain what you’re fundraising for – and we can provide letters confirming your involvement with Dream Renewables.

  • Silent/Online Auctions – again with donated prizes from local businesses, you can enhance an event or a virtual fundraiser by running a silent auction.

  • Birthday Fundraiser – instead of presents for your birthday, set up a Just Giving page and ask for donations to Dream Renewables this year.

  • Sweepstakes - Organise a sweepstake for the Olympics, Grand National or other sporting events. Ask everyone to donate a certain amount to take part, allocate a team to everyone and then the person with the winning team wins half of the takings, with the other half donated to Dream Renewables (some people donate the whole amount!)

  • Sponsored Shave – ask your friends and family to sponsor you to shave off your hair or beard and send us the photos. (If you’re shaving your hair, you could donate it to a charity to make wigs for children who need – just ask your hairdresser for advice.)

  • Wedding Favours - instead of giving your wedding guests some sugared almonds or dried flowers, make a donation to Dream Renewables for everyone who attends your wedding – in return we can provide you with information to include on your name settings for your guests to take home.

Case study:

Dream Renewables has trained hundreds of young people in Ghana, we provide a wealth of support after the training. Take Jenifer, for example.

Jenifer Asiamah (photographed below) is a high school graduate from Ghana, who has a keen interest in electricity and renewable energy. Before joining our training in 2023, she had been working in local marketing, having struggled to find the right opportunities and experience in renewables. Her 6-month part time training with Dream Renewables opened up an internship with Nastech Power Solutions and then a work Placement with Tino Solutions, the leading solar engineering company in Ghana. She also became a certified electrician and now does freelance work in the capital Accra.

Jenifer is still in touch with Dream Renewables and volunteers as a solar technician on our projects.
