Our flagship hands-on solar installation training program is running in March 2026 at our training centre in Kumasi. The programme will equip you with practical clean energy skills and provide pathways into solar-related livelihoods either through employment, entrepreneurship or supporting with charitable solar projects.
This full-time four-week training course includes the skills and knowledge needed to design and install residential off-grid solar power systems. Afterwards, you can write the exams for NVTI Proficiency 1 in Solar PV Design and Installation.
What you will learn
Solar power systems fundamentals and Solar PV electrical theory
Energy fundamentals, energy efficiency and energy audits.
Solar power system design theory
Solar power system installation
Health and safety working at height,
Health and safety working with electricity.
What the training includes
3 weeks of classroom-based sessions with short practical workshops and group assignments.
1 week of practical work where participants practice installing solar power systems using the wide range of solar equipment we have available at our training centre.

All trainees are invited to join Dream Renewables’ exclusive network of solar professionals, called Alumni Connect. This provides continuous learning and development opportunities in the fields of solar power and electrical work.
The opportunity to apply for an internship with Our Partner organisations, which are leading solar companies like Tino Solutions and Nastech Power Solutions and many more.
Who the training is for:
You are eligible for the training if:
You are an electrical wirer, electrician or technician in any discipline
You have an SHS or vocational qualification in a technical or scientific discipline
You are currently studying an SHS or vocational qualification in a technical or scientific discipline.
If you are interested in learning more about solar power but don’t have the above qualifications, please call us, and we will discuss if the training programme is right for you.
Scholarships are available
Due to donations from our generous funders, a limited number of scholarships are available.
The scholarship covers 100% of the tuition fees; the scholarship does not cover the registration fee, which must be paid by everyone.
Everyone is eligible for scholarships. However, priority will be given to you if:
You are a female.
You are under the age of 35
You are currently studying at and school or university
You live in an off-grid or rural community
Through volunteering with Dream Renewables for 1 week after the training.
