Our First Alumni Connect Meeting
At Dream Renewables, our goal is to empower Ghanaian communities with clean, affordable energy through education and hands-on training. Over the past few months, we’ve trained 130 people across three regions in Ghana, helping to shape the next generation of solar and energy professionals. Our alumni remain part of a supportive community that continues to grow and make an impact.
Thanks to our partners like Nastech Power Solutions and Tino Solutions, many of our trainees have gone on to internships, gaining real hands-on experience in solar installation and design. Some have joined us on installation projects, while others volunteer to support new training sessions. However, not everyone stays closely connected – the exact reason we started Alumni Connect.
Dream Renewables’ Alumni Connect is a platform designed to help our graduates continuously learn, reconnect with former colleagues, while also providing opportunities for peer and professional networking across industries. The platform also gives us valuable insight into our trainees’ career journeys, enabling us to better understand their needs and provide the right support to help them thrive.
Our first Alumni Connect session, held in September 2025, was a huge success. It brought together our trainees from past weeks, months and years to share what they’ve been up to since finishing the programme. This session focused on health and safety in the industry and involved training from experienced professionals. .
Paul, whom we trained in 2023, joined our first Alumni Connect and shared his story, see what he said below:
“My experience with Dream Renewables has been a game-changer in my solar energy career. The comprehensive training greatly enhanced my technical skills in designing, implementing, and maintaining solar systems. I can now confidently recommend suitable systems to clients based on their specific energy needs.
The program covered key areas such as energy auditing, solar system design, and feasibility studies, complemented by practical, hands-on experience. This training boosted my confidence, enabling me to lead teams and conduct detailed energy audits that identify inefficiencies and recommend tailored solar solutions.
I have since led several projects, including the design and installation of hybrid and standalone systems totaling about 100kVA (300 solar panels) for both residential and commercial clients, helping them reduce energy costs and carbon emissions while ensuring reliable power supply.
The expertise I gained—spanning system sizing, load assessment, component selection, and site evaluation—has been invaluable. Overall, Dream Renewables has opened new professional opportunities for me, and I remain deeply grateful for the knowledge, confidence, and support it has provided.”
Dream Renewables is committed to strengthening its alumni group and building a vibrant network of skilled and confident professionals ready to drive Ghana’s clean energy future.
The Alumni Connect programme has only just started, in the coming years we will offer:
Monthly discussion sessions on current themes in the renewable energy field
Mentoring and networking opportunities with industry professionals
Targeted training sessions on topics requested by alumni
Employment skills workshops and access to job opportunities
Official Dream Renewables Alumni ID cards and certification support with the Energy Commission and recognised industry bodies
Alumni will also be encouraged to establish local action groups, collaborate on solar projects, lead awareness campaigns, and support one another through peer mentoring. Dream Renewables will provide the technical guidance and digital platforms needed to strengthen these collaborations.
Together, these initiatives will unify our alumni as trusted champions of sustainable energy, committed to accelerating Ghana’s clean energy transition.
